The Smiths - 'The World Won't Listen' and 'Strangeways Here We Come' Japanese Promo LPs - 1987

Original Japanese pressings are particularly highly sought-after amongst collectors, being known for the premium quality of the vinyl and their beautiful presentation; the sleeves are generally printed on heavy-stock cardboard, there is often an additional Japanese lyric insert and, of course, the sleeve is accompanied by the collectable 'OBI' strip. This auction is for two Smiths original-pressing Japanese LPs from 1987 on the 'Victor' label: these are 'The World Won't Listen' and 'Strangeways Here We Come'. Both are offered here in their complete form, each having both a Japanese and an English lyric insert sheet and the original 'OBI' strip around the sleeve. Often, one or more of these components are lost when buying such pressings second hand. Moreover, these are not the standard pressings but the promotional versions in each case. This is denoted by the appearance of the Japanese promotional text printed on the record labels and on a red sticker attached to the outer sleeve in each case (see photos). Both of these LPs have been preserved in terrific condition throughout (see below) and it is extremely rare to find the complete promotional versions of these two original Japanese LPs in such condition.The vinyl and labels are in near mint condition in each case, with no discernable surface marks on the highly-glossy vinyl and no evidence of the records having even been played. The lyric inserts and outer sleeves are all in strong excellent condition, with just some minor 'rippling' here and there. The outer sleeves both have sharp edges and just very mild 'corner wear' in a couple of places. There are no creases or marks on either of the sleeves, and both have a 'new' appearance. The 'OBI' strips are each present and intact; in the case of 'Strangeways Here We Come' there is just some mild 'rippling' on the reverse and the beginning of a very small tear near the top which is not obtrusive and quite difficult to see. These are superb examples of these tremendously-rare promotional pressings. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the items themselves.

Please do consider paying the extra 70p for tracked postage since there is nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still subsidised and very good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask.
