The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! The Smiths - 'Ask' Australian 12" - 1986

This is a highly-collectable Australian release of the 'Ask' single on 12" vinyl with unique picture sleeve. As always, I am as detailed as possible regarding the condition of the items which I sell and, to this end, start by pointing out that at some stage the sleeve has become wet and subsequently dried out which has left some 'rippling' and some water marks on the reverse (this is described in detail below). This aside, the release is particularly sought-after for the unusual choice of picture sleeve which is one of the very few official Smiths releases to feature Morrissey on the sleeve. In addition, the tracklisting differs from its release everywhere else in the world - having 'Shoplifters Of The World Unite' instead of 'Golden Lights' on the reverse. This 12" release was famously listed at Number 29 in the 2005 Record Collector 'Smiths Top 100' article.The vinyl and labels are in near mint condition, with the record being very likely unplayed and there being little or no surface marks on the vinyl itself. The sleeve can only be graded as very good due to the aforementioned 'water damage'. There is some 'rippling' of the sleeve, mainly on the reverse, where it has previously become wet. Where the water has been, there is a mark along the edge of the region which has been wet. It may be possible to reduce or remove this mark by cleaning but I have not attempted this, or to lessen the 'rippling' of the sleeve. Other than this, there are no other marks, writing or damage and the surface of the cardboard sleeve has not become broken anywhere. There are some moderate creases towards several of the corners. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail showing the actual record and sleeve for sale; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
