For sale we have the very first run of the very first Smiths single "Hand In Glove". And by very first run I mean this was the very first pressing of the single carrying the Portland Street contact address in Manchester on the rear of the cover. Once these editions of the single sold out (which was very quickly!!) subsequent pressings were issued with a London based contact address and they were dated 1984, this copy is from 1983. Which means rare! Scouring the net to assess this record's worth has thrown up all sorts of figures ranging from fifteen to over seventy quid. I will begin bidding at a more realistic figure and setting a sensible reserve. This record is advertised elsewhere so I do reserve the right to end the auction at short notice, however I welcome any serious,considered offers.

I have owned this record since the day it was released and can vouch that it is in excellent overall condition - a small amount of very minor creasing to the outer sleeve along with minimal shelf/spindle wear. The vinyl is in superb condition (visually speaking) and in spite of the fact that I haven't actually played this record since about 1987 (bought a cd player!) I can confirm that this was a modestly played record (recorded it to tape a few times etc) and has been very well looked after when not in use. This is a "sold as seen" auction as I cannot guarantee/confirm playability except, as I mentioned before, it was playing just fine prior to being packed away in 1987. Hopefully the included pictues will help illustrate the overall excellent but if you need any further information I will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
