Description

The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.
I accept returns and offer a full refund if you are not happy with your purchase.

The Smiths - 'How Soon Is Now' EEC 7" - 1984

Catalogue no. RT 166 - Rough Trade Records

This record has gained particular appeal to collectors owing to the unusual appearance of a lilac-toned version of the sleeve artwork well-known for its association with the 'William It Was Really Nothing' single in most of the world. This single is actually 'How Soon Is Now?' rather than the aforementioned track, being instead chosen for release in Spain, Holland and (as here) the EEC in 1984. Subsequently, of course, the track was later issued as an A-Side in the rest of the world in 1985 following its popularity as a B-Side track. Having a thin paper sleeve, it is very rare to find one for sale which is in the pristine condition offered here (see below) and it may be quite some time before you see another like it.

The vinyl and labels are in strong excellent condition, with only a few light 'hairline' scuffs in one or two places. Otherwise the vinyl retains its original glossy 'sheen' and the labels are unmarked and as-new. The record appears very likely unplayed. The outer sleeve was made of very thin delicate paper and is in remarkable condition, being in near mint condition. There are no creases, only some very minor 'rippling' and there are no seam splits or tears in the fragile sleeve. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.

All my auctions start at 1P and have NO RESERVE. They are all 100% genuine, original versions. Some are in mint/new condition and some are used; all will go to the highest bidder. I offer a money-back guarantee if anything is described incorrectly. Postage and Packing is free in the UK for untracked and uninsured standard postage, but please consider paying the 1.00 surcharge for tracked postage since there is, of course, nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask. I always take great care to package items well.

See my other auctions for related rare items here. If multiple auctions are won at the same time, I will charge only the postage cost for the heaviest item and pay the remainder myself. This is the case wherever you live.
