The Smiths - 'Ask', German Black Vinyl 12" - 1986

This very nice item is the German 12" issue of the 'Ask' single, housed in its striking 'Colin Campbell' sleeve which was limited to the German releases. The vast majority of these singles appearing on the market are in the clear vinyl format, but a few exist in black vinyl which seem to be considerably harder to find. This record has been stored outside of its outer sleeve, as these German releases were particularly prone to seam splitting given that there would have been originally no inner sleeve present. Consequently, both record and sleeve here have survived in superb condition and there is none of the splitting which often arises.The vinyl and labels are in near mint condition, with the vinyl having no surface marks and being bright and glossy in appearance; the record clearly having been played once or twice at most. The outer sleeve is also, remarkably, in near mint condition, with the mildest of rubbing to a few of the corners being the only sign of wear visible. There are no appreciable creases, none of the aforementioned seam-splitting, and there is no writing or tears to the sleeve anywere. Please see the accompanying photos; note that the ID lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
