The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

The original official German coloured vinyl releases of The Smiths 1980s singles are often regarded as being amongst the most attractive and collectable of all The Smiths' back catalogue. Although once relatively frequently appearing on the market, the coloured vinyl singles such as this blue-vinyl 'Shoplifters' 7" from 1987 have now become increasingly scarce and have vanished from the stalls of record fairs as the ever-growing numbers of Smiths collectors and enthusiasts buy them up. In their place, coloured vinyl bootleg pressings of Smith LPs, in particular, have sprung up to take advantage of the demand. It is these original 1980s pressings, however, which are far more highly valued to the serious collector, and are accumumating in monetary value when found in collectable condition such as is offered here. The vinyl itself is in striking clear blue, which is particularly appealing when held up to the light, and would make a superb addition to a Smiths vinyl collection.The vinyl and labels are in near mint condition, with practically no marks at all on the glossy transparent blue vinyl or smart grey/white labels. It was released in the European 'jukebox' standard format, with the large centre-hole, and is very likely unplayed. The outer sleeve was made of very thin delicate paper and has survived tremendously well, being in strong excellent condition with just one very small beginning of a seam split in the centre of the right hand edge. Other than this, there are no creases in the fragile sleeve and no writing or tears. The reverse of the sleeve has a faint impression due to the centre circle of the vinyl, which is extremely common in such sleeves. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.

Please do consider paying the extra 70p for tracked postage since there is nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still subsidised and very good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask.
