The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging in a 'box' mailer with the record outside the sleeve to avoid seam-splitting. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

The Smiths - 'The World Won't Listen' White Label LP - 1987

The 1987 Smiths album 'The World Won't Listen' was promoted in the UK at the time of its release by white label copies of the record which were sent out to radio stations. This auction is for one of these promotional LPs which was pressed in the very fist run by Rough Trade before the regular LP pressings began. As such, it is an original and increasingly-scarce genuine Smiths 1980s collectable which appears less and less often for sale these days. This copy comes with a standard outer sleeve and has, unusually, a white inner sleeve upon which the track-listing has been typed. The record label on one side also has a rectangular white sticker upon which the band name, title of the LP and catalogue number has been typed. Although the typed rectangular label appears analagous to those which were placed upon white label copies of the 'Shoplifters Of The World Unite' 12" by Rough Trade around this time, I have not seen another with the over-typed inner sleeve before.The vinyl and labels are in excellent condition, having clearly been played and exhibiting mild surface marks in places; though the vinyl is overall quite glossy and very presentable in appearance. The standard outer sleeve is also in excellent condition with some mild corner wear in places, and the over-typed white inner sleeve has some mild creases and very small tears in a couple of places. Please see the accompanying photos for more detail; note that the 'Ebay ID' lettering is just on the pictures and not on the item itself.
