Carefully assembled collection of The Smiths Rough Trade 45s with Picture Sleeves, suitable for framing but frames not included [Ikea stock them].

All 45s played and are either EX or VG - both sleeves and vinyl, although the purpose of the collection is to display Morrissey's stunning sleeve designs.  One or two have creases but I am pretty fussy and rejected several in poor condition along the way.  I began collecting them a couple of years ago when I realised that they were in limited supply as a collection.   I had a few original releases and then assembled two collections - both of equal stature.  I'm keeping one as pictured and selling the other.  With the reappearance of Morrissey I think people will be reevaluating his importance and these picture sleeves will become the icon of 80’s music, sleeve design and style.  Hence, buy now while stocks last!

1. May 83 - Hand In Glove / Handsome Devil (live Hacienda 4/2/83) UK 7" [Rough Trade RT131] London address.

Cover: The picture sleeve has an anonymous model (there is speculation that it might be George O'Mara, it certainly isn't Leo Ford) photographed by Jim French, taken from Margaret Walter's book "The Nude Male".
2. Oct 83 - This Charming Man / Jeane (Troy Tate demo) UK 7" [Rough Trade RT136]

Cover: Jean Marais from Cocteau's classic film "Orphée". The back has Marais' arm.

3. & 4. Jan 84 What Difference Does It Make? (single edit) / Back To The Old House

Cover: Original releases have Terence Stamp from the movie "The Collector". This is not a still from the film, it must have been a publicity shot. Because Stamp didn't approve the Smiths using his photograph, later UK 7" pressings have Morrissey mock Stamp's pose and grin, holding a glass of milk instead of a chloroform pad.

Cover: Rita Tushingham from "A Taste Of Honey" directed by Tony Richardson [1961].

Cover: A green uncredited photograph of a man sitting on the edge of a bed. It comes from a 1980 to 1982 advertisement for ADS speakers, the object on the bed is a speaker.

Cover: Officially (from Jo Slee's book "Peepholism - Into The Art Of Morrissey") Morrissey used for this single an uncredited photograph of an Italian child actor from the sixties, taken from a tiny photo in Film And Filmaking magazine. But it is actually taken from a Ukrainian movie from 1965 titled "The Enchanted Desna" by Julia Solntseva. A still is found in Film And Filmaking magazine, February 1965 issue.

Cover:James Dean photographed in 1948 by Nelva Jean Thomas. Incorrectly credited to David Loehr in the sleeve notes. Loehr supplied the photo (as well as the one used on the "Strangeways Here we Come" album), hence the mix-up.
