Description
I purchased this 3-track 45 rpm single in the secondary market advertised with the vinyl being near mint and the sleeve being excellent which I believe to be accurate. The A side has the lightest superficial marks on the surface, following a light cleaning it played perfectly through the Grado’s and sounded as good as 12” 45’s always do. The B-side looked like it was never touched by a stylus and played flawlessly as well. Numerically I would score the quality of the vinyl a 96. Upon purchase the vinyl was placed in a Mofi sleeve. The jacket looks almost perfect in the pictures and I’m sure your wondering where the loss of points comes from. When looking at the rear cover the glue has come loose along about 3” of the bottom jacket (you can just barely see it in the second picture) and without question will separate more if you try to put the album or inserts back inside. There is also a very minor split (it looks like it got bumped into the shelf where it was stored) directly under Candy’s ear; it almost blends in. The sleeve arrived in a protective plastic sleeve with the album and inserts outside of the jacket to mitigate further damage. Had it not been for that I would have score the sleeve a 95 however based on this separation I will score it an 85, well within the excellent category. Honestly I put it in a brand new plastic sleeve and the jacket looks essentially perfect. Finally, regarding shipping the album is secured, vinyl outside of the jacket, within cardboard inside a Whiplash record mailer.
