Description

The Smiths, The Queen is Dead Vinyl. Original 1986 UK EMI Pressing.
Nice original Rough Trade release of the Queen is dead from 1986.
Outer Sleeve - Really nice and glossy with only very light rubbing to the corners. All the edges and the spine show very little wear if any. No damage to note only a few minor blemishes. Not mint, but really nice. No hype sticker, and it doesn't look like it has ever had one, no evidence of sticker removal. There is a small manufacturing defect in the form of a bump under the front of the opening panel of the gatefold. It appears some debris is sandwiched between the two opening sides resulting an a small 'pimple', see last image. No writing, splits, or label removal marks etc. EX++
Inner Sleeve - Really crisp and glossy, with no damage / wear to note.EX++
Vinyl - Visually has lots of light hairlines. Plays with light crackling on the lead in / out and between the tracks but does not interfere with the music and certainly no clicks, or jumps. I have an elliptical stylus fitted which sits deeper in the groves than a standard conical stylus, so can be prone to picking up more background noise from dirt present lower down in the groves. VG+
Dead Wax Info A side - ROUGH 96 A-1-U-1-1-1 FEAR OF MANCHESTER Dead Wax Info B side - ROUGH 96 B-1 -1-1-X1 THEY WAS ROTTEN DAYS
According to Discogs this is Variant 7 EMI Pressing?
Labels - Nice and clean and undamaged. Just a few light spindle marks.
A good original copy with a fantastic sleeve, as mentioned not (what I would call mint) but in excellent shape. The record, I would describe as a great everyday player, something that does its job, without you having to worry about using it and may improve with cleaning an further playing. Would also make a great sleeve upgrade to a pristine Vinyl copy.  All in all  super addition to your record collection. In my opinion, the best Smiths LP, with the iconic Salford lads club image in the gatefold.
Please study the images for condition etc, paying attention to the corners, spine and opening side of the sleeve as this is a good indicator of the condition.
I try to be honest as possible if a little conservative in my grading on a subject that is often completely down to subjective interpretation. with the grading to avoid disappointment. The condition of the record is difficult to photograph, but hopefully the sleeve images speak for themselves.
