The Smiths - 'William, It Was Really Nothing' German 'Marbled Vinyl' 12'' - 1984

The German 'Intercord' coloured-vinyl releases of the Smiths early records have become real collectors items owing to their scarcity and the impressive nature of the vinyl itself. The item up for auction here is the predominantly-purple marbled vinyl German release of 'William, It Was Really Nothing' from back in 1984. The pattern of the vinyl is particularly striking, making it an exceptional addition to any collection. The sleeve is also different - as can be seen (see photo) there is a small reproduction of the purple vinyl design on the sleeve (printed, rather than a removable sticker). Copies of this 12" have become sufficiently collectable that Record Collector listed it amongst their all-time Smiths Top 100 rarities at number 72 whereupon it was estimated to have a value of 40.00 in 2005. Don't miss this opportunity to own this very nice item.The record has been played just once or twice and has very little sign of wear on the labels. The impressive vinyl has some light 'hairline' surface marks which become visible if the record is held to the light but do not spoil the visual effect of the vinyl; overall it is graded as strong excellent. The outer sleeve is also in strong excellent condition, with no significant creases and only mild corner wear. There is the smallest of 'cut outs' in the sleeve towards the top right, but is much smaller than cut-outs normally tend to be and is barely noticeable from the front.
