For sale is this UK original vinyl 7" single, in a strange Walt Jabsco glossy picture sleeve, by The Special AKA. Entitled Gangsters, the B-side is The Selecter by The Selecter. On the 2-Tone label, the catalogue number is TT1/TT2 and the date of issue is 1979.
I picked this up at a record fair around 15 years ago and have no idea of its origins; the seller I bought it from knew nothing about it either. The record is a standard UK issue (and not translucent red) with paper labels and solid centre (see pressing details below). The picture sleeve is top-opening, printed on glossy card and is professional looking; I've included pictures of the inside to show the construction. I presume it's a fan-produced sleeve of some sort but an interesting curio in any case.

B-side matrix: A PORKY PRIME CUT S-17 TT 2-4
Condition
The vinyl is in Very Good Minus condition.
The labels are in Excellent condition, clean and bright with clear, perfect printing and only the very lightest of spindle marks.
The picture cover is in Very Good Plus condition with a couple of tiny scuffs on the front and minor discolouration at the edges of the white background on the back.
All vinyl records are strictly graded according to Record Collector magazine's grading system, the long established UK standard, with any specific flaws mentioned along with the grading. They are sent in custom-made mailers, with built-in or added stiffeners, and are packaged outside their sleeves to prevent edge splits. Singles without a picture sleeve will either have a plain sleeve or a correct-era original (not repro) record company sleeve (stated above). Original record company sleeves may not be the exact sleeve issued with the single so may have a different catalogue number hand-written in the corner but they will be the correct design for the single. They may have a bit of wear, writing, stickers, sticker marks etc but will be in a generally good, useable condition without edge splits or sellotape.
