There was a total of 1000 copies pressed. As of June 10th, we estimate that there are about 75 copies remaining on various on-line platforms and a few in scattered record stores in the U.S. and Europe.
The Spiders: Vincent Furnier, Dennis Dunaway, Glen Buxton, John Speer, John Tatum. Recorded at the legendary Audio Recorders in Phoenix, AZ. 1965/1966. Produced by Jack Curtis. Liner notes by Dwayne Witten of Mascot Records and Mike Dugo.
Limited Edition on Red Vinyl - 1000 copies. Released on OKtay Records OKLP-001. Each copy comes with a numbered Spiders business card and a Spiders pin.
Before they were the Alice Cooper Group, they were The Spiders - a local band in Phoenix, Arizona that became one of the house bands at the most popular teen club in Phoenix - The VIP Club, owned and operated by Jack Curtis (RIP, February 2023). In 1965, Curtis took the band into the studio (Floyd Ramsey's legendary Audio Recorders) to cut two sides -- cover songs "Why Don't You Love Me" and "Hitch Hike" -- for his Mascot record label. In 1966, they cut one more track ("Don't Blow Your Mind") for Mascot before re-recording that same song in Tucson, AZ for a different label. The original 45 release of the first two songs (Mascot #112) is a highly-sought after collectors' item now; and all 3 songs have been released on vinyl and CDs several times over the years. However, the tracks on this release have never been released. This release contains the entire (still-existing) recording sessions of all 3 songs; including false starts, alternative versions, studio chatter, etc. This is an historic release of one of the world's most popular, influential and enduring rock artists. This is not a bootleg - all material on this release has been legally licensed from Mascot Records.
