The Stooges - Funhouse LP - '70s US Pressing -Fun House

Second issue of the seminal second Stooges album. This one was harder, dumber, murkier and much closer to the live Stooges experience. It was basically their live set recorded live in the studio. You can still hear echoes of this in modern music - it had a big influence on Joy Division and early Spacemen 3 was basically a tribute to this record.

The vinyl is VG+, it's generally much better than this but there are a couple of visible (and briefly audible) marks on each side. I played the whole of it and it didn't spoil matters in the least - this is not the kind of record where sound quality is paramount, it's much more about power than finesse! I just found out that the producer was the keyboard player from The Kingsmen - that explains the difference between this and the John Cale produced debut!

The gatefold sleeve being American has some wear around the edges but doesn't that add to the charm? OK, it's VG and that's being cruel.

I'm selling the other two worthwhile Stooges albums today - yes, I discount combined shipping.

Like many of the records I'm selling today this came from the large collection of a busy man now aged 61. Due to the size of his collection many of the LPs were only played once or twice from new - some were never played and they were all properly looked after. His musical taste was towards the avant garde/free end of the jazz spectrum as well as being a fan of prog, psych and experimental music. I will be selling selected records from his collection over the next few years so please add me to your favourites list!
