This auction is for the The Strangeloves album titled "I Want Candy" pressed in mono and released by BANG Records (BANG 211) in the USA in 1965 featuring Satisfaction, Hang On Sloopy, Cara-Lin, Night-Time, and I Want Candy. The record is about a VG+ to VG++, with mint record labels, contained in a mint rice paper (not original) inner sleeve. The single sleeve record jacket is VG++ or slightly better with a "CARA-LIN" sticker on front upper right. The record jacket has no holes, cuts, splits, rings, dings, tears, bends, creases, dents, water stains or damage of any kind, writing of any kind, tape or tape marks, and no bar code. The Strangeloves managed to produce one garage band classic, their story is probably more interesting than their actual music. They were a trio of Brooklyn songwriter/producers who landed a number one girl group hit with The Angels' "My Boyfriend's Back." When the British Invasion peaked in the 1960s, they decided to get in on the act by recording as a group, billing themselves as an Australian outfit to cash in on the mystique being attached to foreign groups. "I Want Candy," with its crunching beat, joyous chorus, and rambling lead guitar, was their great moment, reaching number 11 in 1965. Then they put together a live act to support their "Candy", they made outrageous claims to hail from the nonexistent town of Armstrong, Australia, where they had made a fortune as sheepherders who had developed a cross-breed. They also made the Top 40 with a couple fairly great follow-ups, "Cara-Lin" and "Night Time," both of which were built around crunching claps, stomps, and drums. Also recording an album and several hit singles, most of their material unashamedly plagiarized the beats of "I Want Candy," with favorable results. Then they withdrew from performing and recording to concentrate on writing and producing for The McCoys, although Strangeloves releases continued to appear until 1968. They then went on to produce records for War in the 1970s, and then produced efforts by Blondie, The Go-Go's and others. Seller charges actual USPS postage + 2 dollars for packing materials/handling per single shipment - a single shipment can contain combined auctions wins.  Seller goes to post office after auction is over to get actual postage amount - USPS first class international airmail (amount depends on package weight and destination location) or USA priority mail (amount depends on package weight and destination location) or USA media mail (amount varies by weight but eBay has limited this amount to 4 USA dollars per auction win), and an insurance amount if requested by auction winner.  Paypal is the acceptable form of payment. The handling time is usually 3 business days but could be as much as 5 business days due to my regular employment. There is no specific return policy.
