This was quite a well known and sought after set of records back in the 70s and 80s. These were the part of the 70's issues. Each box contains a book and 3 LP's, so that's 45 records! There are also some with extra brochures inside. The records are in superb condition, and the books are like new. The set consists of the following:-

From a collection of several thousand, this was a set my father rated very highly. Some well known tracks from yesteryear, but with the sound quality of new recordings.  This series has been reissued several times since its introduction in the early 1970s. The music on these box sets is not performed by the original big band artists. The music is a recreation of big band songs, performed by a studio orchestra directed by Billy May and Glen Gray, with changing personnel for Capitol Records in the 1960s and early 1970s.

Boxes were issued through a subscription, with one volume being issued about every quarter. Later, Time-Life reissued all the volumes with new color covers starting in the mid-1970s. The series was manufactured by Capitol Records' Special Markets Division.
Please note the weight is almost 30kg, hence the higher cost of postage.
These were part of my late father's collection of well over a thousand LP's. It's been a couple of years since I last listed any, but I'll start listing many more over the Winter months when time permits. Many are very collectable, and all in excellent condition. He knew his jazz and classical music inside out, and was a longstanding member of the Glasgow Jazz Club. Most of the records have only ever been played on his Linn Sondek LP12 ( his being one of the first 100 made back in the 70's), with SME arm and Shure cartridge, all meticulously looked after. I'm not a record dealer, so I don't really know, and don't use, the trade grading system. What I will say is that I was blown away by some of the reviews of my Dad's records when I last sold some a couple of years ago. Here's just a few, which will hopefully give you the confidence that you will be buying well cared for records in very good condition.
