Description
This is a copy of the third Thought Criminals 7" on Doublethink Records from 1980.
There's no picture sleeve with it - I picked it up about 12 years ago just like this. The sleeve has "Released 20.6.80 cover to follow" written on it. Most mentions of this single on the internet seem to have it listed with a July 1980 release date - maybe it was actually released in late June?
I hadn't actually noticed this until just now, giving the record a good look over, but on both faces of the record it has "3RRR" handwritten - it's hard to see because it's black pen (I think?) on a black background. You can probably just make it out on the A side - it's written over the Doublethink logo if you look carefully! 3RRR is the biggest of the community radio stations here in Melbourne so this looks like a promo copy that was sent to the station back in 1980 although there's nothing that really differentiates it from the standard release except for the lack of a cover and insert!
Someone also put a sticker with an A on Side 2 - I'm wondering if that's somehow related to the fact that the Test Pressing of this single had Equidistance as the A side? Just speculating there.
I don't sell records often so I'm no grading expert but for that reason I do try to grade conservatively - I reckon VG+ for the record and VG for the sleeve sounds about right. That's using the Goldmine grading standard btw.
