Opening proceedings is the bravado of Bad Education, the beat is boom-bap drums meets electro tweaks, it’s really busy but The Tongue is up to the challenge. Again on the J.P produced The Punch his bravado and lyrical sharpness shows. Don’t You Ever is a tale of a girl, with heavily metaphorical leanings (at least I think they are) showing some serious lyrical versatility.
The last two tracks are Counterfeit Cheques in remix and original form, both beats courtesy of Sydney’s Fame, the bouncing bass perfectly matches the catchy hook and the extra layers of sound on the remix and sharp guest spots from Urthboy and Fame slightly shading the equally solid original. The package is completed by sharp cuts from DJ Diaz, so there is a lot here to like. Consider my appetite for the long player whet.
