Description
This is a 1st edition sealed original stereo pressing of the first LP of The Toys, which includes number 1 hit single Lover's Concerto.
The Toys were discovered at a talent show by manager Vince Marc, who introduced them to songwriters Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell. Linzer and Randell wrote most of the songs they recorded, including their U.S. #1 hit single "A Lover's Concerto, and also produced the group's 1965-66 recordings on Bob Crewe's DynoVoice record label] Global sales of this disc exceeded two million copies, with a gold record awarded by the R.I.A.A. in 1965. Their first U.S. tour was with Gene Pitney. In 1967 the group changed labels and producers moving to Musicor Records but charted only one more minor single (a cover of Brian Hylands "Sealed with a Kiss") before breaking up
The LP is sealed in unopened plastic bag and is known to be a first pressing as it was not reissued by the original company.The cover is not sheathed in shrink wrap and there is wear at all four cove lower corners. There is also a crease on the lower part of front cover near spine. There is slight damage to the front top of the cover near the mouth. The seams and spine are solid with no splits and LP information is clearly readable on the spine with no flaking. With the noted exception, the face of the cover is in excellent condition with slight ring wear at the top and bottom of both front and back of cover. There is also a bit of damage to front of cover near the the upper mouth corner
The LP is being sold without reserve and payment is expected within 3 days of auction end. In most cases shipment will be made within 24 hours of payment via media mail at a cost of $4 with tracking although if multiple items are won cost will be lower for additional combined items.
