This listing is for an original, 1988 vinyl record release of rock super-group the Traveling Wilburys' first album, "The Traveling Wilburys Volume 1." This record has NEVER BEEN OPENED, and is still in the shrink wrap!
Because this record was never opened, I assume the vinyl to be in either mint or near mint condition, assuming there were no manufacturing defects. The record jacket/cover shows no major visible flaws either. The shrink wrap is entirely intact with only two small flaws, both pictured: a small hole, in the shape of a perfect circle, on the front cover (though nothing appears to have blemished the actual cover through this tiny hole in the shrink wrap), and, also on the front cover shrink wrap, there's a bit of yellow discoloration near the top left where I believe a price sticker previously was placed and then removed. The only other flaw with the record itself is a bit of a musty smell...but I've found this to be a very hard-to-avoid when collecting records in general, and it doesn't affect the visible quality of the record at all.
The record was released by Wilbury Records and Warner Brothers Records, and distributed by Ganga Records. The release year listed is 1988 and the record was made in the USA. It's a 33 RPM, standard 12' record, if I'm not mistaken.
This is a truly great, classic album, featuring the superstars (performing under pseudonyms) George Harrison, the late, great singer-songwriter formerly of The Beatles, Tom Petty, famously of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Jeff Lynne, famously of Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), as well as those two phenomenal performers known for their solo acts, the late, great Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan. Also present is famed session musician Jim Keltner on drums. The album was produced by Harrison and Lynne, using their Wilbury pseudonyms. This album includes such classic songs as "Handle With Care," "Dirty World," "Not Alone Anymore," "Congratulations," "Tweeter and the Monkey Man," and "End of the Line."

After losing my job and resuming my attempt to earn my college degree, and in need of both extra cash and extra space in the house, I'm selling off many old toys and comic books of mine that I no longer have time to maintain. I've been an avid collector for many years, since I was very young and growing up in the 1990s.
I grew up listening to The Beatles, and I spent my adolescence obsessed with Bob Dylan, and have seen him in concert every year since 2002 (with the exception of 2008, when I went to see Tom Waits instead). It's no surprise, then, that I'm a HUGE fan of The Traveling Wilburys. If you're a fan of any of the members of this incredible super-group, then chances are you'll value this album as much as I do. I bought this at an antique store, amazed that it was still in the shrink wrap, never opened. I didn't have the heart to open it, though, and a few weeks later I bought a used copy that now gets regular play on my turntable. If you collect rare vinyl, or just memorabilia from any of the fantastic members of this once-in-a-century (okay, well, technically, twice-in-a-century) band, then don't pass up the chance to get this record, especially before I change my mind about selling it!
