Cameo-Parkway (UK) P.924, 1964. Original UK issue!
We’re having a bit of a clearout of stuff at home so I’ve put most of my usual eBay sales of art and ephemera mostly to one side for a couple of weeks. I’ve got a large personal collection of vinyl, lots of which I don’t play any more, so one of the things we will be selling is records. This week I’m listing, among other records, a small number of Northern Soul singles.
Before anyone gets too excited about this single, let me point out immediately that it is in poor condition. I’ve decided to list it on eBay only because this original, UK issue of this classic Northern Soul track is almost never seen. I thought someone might just like the pleasure of owning it.
Here She Comes was first issued in the USA on the Parkway label in 1964 and later that same year in the UK on Cameo-Parkway (distributed at the time by Pye), with the same catalogue number as the US issue. Presumably hardly anyone bought in the UK bought a copy!
This example has lots of scratches on both sides, although none is bad enough to cause it to stick or jump. It does play all the way through on my record deck although obviously it is crackly throughout. You can see that the labels to both sides are in nice, bright condition though. It doesn’t have the original sleeve, so I will send it in a plain white sleeve.
I repeat that I am offering just for its rarity or novelty interest to collectors. It is a record to look at rather than listen to. Please be sure to think about it in this way and you won’t be disappointed.
