Description

The classic, much sought after Orange County New Wave compilation "The Up Another Octave Transmission" featuring "Talk Talk Video" by Berlin (of "Take My Breath Away" / Top Gun fame) and other Southern California new wave/punk artists of 1981 such as: Farenheit, Craig Sibley, Null And Void, Nu Beats, Videos, The Barbies, The Vectors, The Detours, Beat-E-O's, Removed, Finesse, Tactics, and The End.  Excellent album with some terrific cuts, surprisingly good for a small label issue with local artists. "Boys Will Be Boys" must be listened to.  Interesting to compare early Berlin with their slicker, more produced sound of later years (but I loved that, too).


This LP includes the RARE original inserts. There is one insert for each featured artist and they are compiled in a folder specially made for this LP release.  They are simple, photocopied flyers (some with lyrics) promoting each artist.  They are mostly in excellent condition but several have a very small fold at one corner.

Also included is a copy of the September 1981 issue of Fullertone magazine (which seems to have come with the album), celebrating its 1 year anniversary.  Many of the artists mentioned in the mag are on the LP.  This magazine covered the Orange County new wave/punk music scene and billed itself as 'Orange County's Music Mag'.  It is in EXCELLENT condition.  Not to say they aren't out there, but I've never seen the inserts or magazine before.

I bought this album used in the early 1980's and have kept it for 40 years.  I never allowed anyone to touch my records and I only handled them by the edge.  Record is in VG+ condition, sleeve VG, inlay VG.  If you are a fan of early new wave music (1979-1983), you'll want this in your collection.
