Description
This listing is for a 1968 West Coast pressing of The Velvet Underground & Nico on Verve Records (V6-5008). This is the airbrushed back cover version, and has the A and B label designations (as opposed to Side 1 and Side 2). It has the complete banana which is unpeeled, though the very top tip is slightly raised. There is some overall wear to the cover, which can be seen in thr photos, the most notable of which being a small seam split on the top, and another on the bottom. There are the typical signs of aging and wear, and a SMALL name written in pen on the front top right. Overall it presents very well, and is a very nice example of this often trashed cover.
I would grade the vinyl visually at VG, though it plays at VG+. There are marks and scuffs throughout and on the labels (please see photos), though nothing that can be felt with a finger, and nothing that particularly affects play. No skips, warps or other major issues on playthrough, though there is slight surface noise between tracks, and maybe just the slightest amount during a couple quiet sections. "Suzanne" felt the need to write her name on the B side label too.
For all my description above, this really is a very nice copy of this absolute classic, and it likely both looks and plays better than I probably described and graded it at.
