Description
Vinyl has been ultra sonically cleaned, sleeved (inner/outer), and fully play tested.
What a stories album this turned out to be. At first it fully bombed when released in 1967. It was all peace and love and not what The VU was doing.
This is a West Coast pressing. An early repress from 1968. First pressings come from the East Coast. Another oddity added to the mystique of The VU.
I have always felt like owning this album is like owning a piece of Andy Warhol art!!!!
I believe the banana has been unpeeled but there is a part that has a rip and some signs it may have been started to be peeled. Please do look over the photos and make your own determination here.
This is also an airbrushed torso cover. Typical for this pressing.
Vinyl: VG+ (nice gloss, some minor sleeve transfer (“ghosting”) places (does not affect playback), and some minor superficial hairlines. No texture to any marks.
Side 1: a little light interference at stylus touchdown and 1-2 other places with quick, short background crackle. Nothing constant or overpowering.
Side 2: similar to Side 1 but 2-3 places with some background crackle. Also NOTE that during “Heroin” there were 2-3 light, background pops. Not overly loud but present.
No skips. While some interference is present it’s at a minimum.
Cover: VG (corner wear, a top seam has a split and has been taped at some point (could possibly be removed with a little heat application), some scuffing and a couple of minor discoloration spots. Cover has flaws but overall vibrant and comes off looking pretty well.)
Verve inner sleeve present with handling wear and wrinkles.
Ships securely & BOXED. I use appropriate shipping materials. No odd packaging. Old album covers and/or cardboard stiffeners will be used. Fast turn around shipping-same day or the next-if not during the weekend/holiday.
See my feedback and buy with confidence.
Vinyl is housed in an anti-static inner sleeve.
