Hello there and welcome to my auction. Please read my descriptions carefully before you bid. Please make sure you read everything especially the condition of each vinyl. The grading and criteria are below.

This is an auction for: The Velvet Underground – White Light/White Heat – MEGA RARE Original Verve Vinyl LP album from 1968.

This is the original Stereo Verve Vinyl LP of this classic album with Skull Sleeve. The sleeve is the flipback front laminated sleeve. The centre label on the vinyl is the black Verve label. This record was Made in Great Britain.

Finding an original British press of this album on vinyl is becoming seriously RARE and finding one in this lovely condition is even rarer.

Matrix numbers on the inner grooves are:

Side 1: V6 5046 A2

Side 2: V6 5046 B1

Vinyl Condition: EX (Lovely shiny condition. There are some light sleeve marks /sleeve rash marks and the odd very light hairline in places but overall the record really is in stunning condition and shows very few signs of play. There are a few slight spindle marks but spindle is still crisp and sharp. I have never seen one of these in such lovely condition and I doubt I ever will again. This really is one for the collectors. Playback is great and is fully tested).

Inner Sleeve Condition: VG (Comes in a “plastic bags can be dangerous” sleeve. I don’t know whether this is the original inner sleeve or not but it protects it nicely. The inner sleeve has some yellowing due to age but is fine).

Outer Sleeve Condition: VG (Flipback front laminated skull sleeve is in great condition for its age. There are the usual edge and corner creases to the laminate but is great for its age. Bottom right corner has a group of laminate creases but it ok. The back of the sleeve is also great with no writing etc. There are some numbers written in pen inside the sleeve which I dare say was from the original shop that it was bought from back in the 60’s. Overall great condition for its age).

I grade my vinyl’s as follows:

M = Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Unplayed and sealed records are referred to as Mint.

Ex = Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have minimal wear and/or creasing.

VG = Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.
Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects.

G = Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair = The record shows signs of extensive play and may have many marks and deep scratches but will still play ok but with significantly lower sound quality. Artwork will be rather worn with possible splits, small rips, scrapes, dents, or maybe water damage.
