Description

Here is your opportunity to own the White Light/White Heat album from The Velvet Underground.  This was the second album from the Velvet Underground and also the last to feature John Cale.   White Light/White Heat was recorded in only two days.  This album is a raw and visceral experience that paved the way for punk music.  This album is truly a treasure and a must for any Velvet Underground or Lou Reed fans.  If you have never heard this album, you owe it to yourself to hear it on vinyl.  It is one of my all time favorites and I highly recommend it.  Rolling Stone Magazine ranked White Light/White Heat number 293 out of the top 500 albums of all time.  This LP is the very 1st US Stereo pressing on Verve Records from 1968.  This particular LP is the East Coast Stereo Pressing.  The LP jacket and LP contain all of the 1st Pressing identifiers.  They include:  Andy Warhol's Skull tattoo on the lower left side of the front cover, track listing on the back cover lists There She Comes Now instead of Here She Comes Now, the back cover credits Lou Reed for Lead Guitar instead of Guitar, the back cover also credits Andy Warhol for cover concept, and lastly the LP labels have a Three Prong Music Credit for each track listed.  The album cover is a work of art and the album is a proto-punk masterpiece.  This album continues to grow in value and scarcity as time passes.  This particular LP has V6-5046 SIDE-1  MGS-1258  10 as the matrix number etched in the dead wax, on side one.  Side two of the LP has V6-5046 SIDE-2  MGS-1259  11 etched on the dead wax.  Both sides of the deadwax also contain a block shaped S.  The vinyl is in Near Mint/Excellent condition. The LP has only a couple of very light hairline scratches and paper scuffs on each side.  The blemishes are very difficult to identify and they do not have any affect on the playback.  The playback is outstanding and much closer to Near Mint. The LP labels are clean with only a few faint spindle marks on each side.  This album also includes the original Verve company inner sleeve.  The inner sleeve is in terrific shape.  The LP cover is in Very Good Plus Condition.  The album cover has some light ring wear on the front and back of the cover.  The ring wear is a bit more noticeable on the back of the cover.  The front of the cover contains Andy Warhol's infamous Skull Tattoo from his film Bike Boy.  The front of the cover also has a couple of minor/small nicks and a crease mark in the lower right corner.  The seams and spine all have some mild wear.  The spine has some wear, but it is mostly legible.  The catalog number is partially missing the V and 6, but the rest of the spine is completely legible.  The spine also has some paper loss on the very bottom and it is about a half inch long  The top and bottom seams also have a good amount amount of wear.  None of the seams are split.  All of the corners have some rounding.  This album has been professionally cleaned on a VPI 16.5 and will be shipped in a brand new white inner sleeve.  The album jacket will come in a new 3 mil poly sleeve.  The album will be professional shipped in an LP mailer with two 12 inch cardboard inserts.  The LP will be positioned outside of the jacket when shipped.  This album is ready for playing or storage.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  I do not ship outside of the United States.  I can combine shipping for multiple auction wins.  Please bid with confidence.
