"MY GENERATION"
BRUNSWICK RECORDS LAT 8616 ~ 1965 Vintage Original pressing heavy vinyl in MONO
British Beat music was propelled and motivated in the early 60's by the visiting US musicians, blues records and soul explosion from Detroit, aka 'Motown'. While Merseybeat was upping the World's attention to the UK shores, while the US Rock and Roll was on the wane. Along with the impetus was a fashion phenomenon called 'MOD', and that meant French hairstyles, crew neck sweaters, thin legged trousers and pattern buttondown shirts. The WHO sat very well with Mods due to their playing Stateside black soul along with aggressive chordal guitar played loud. Brash attitudes, snubbing noses at the normals and oldies, basically in your face and take it or leave it.
Great material, stage presence, tight loud playing gigs that set guys and dolls dancing and popping the right pills.
To top everything, their singles were hard hitting statements of youth exercising free young thinking, rebellion from parental morals or rules.
This debut LP got them off in style of course, but was already putting a cap on their earliest material to the point that they were already moving onto the drug-influenced wilder rock, stage clothes of colourful flambouyance and incendiary explosions.
This LP was already nostalgic, a record to rival 'Please Please Me' maybe, but historically a landmark of where they had come from to get known.
These copies got thrown around at parties, by drinking and pill popping teens dropping cigarette ash and stepping on the cover.... so mostly you see them in trashy condition and scratched!
NOT this time - this is easily the best copy I personally have ever seen - a real keeper!

CONDITION:
The vinyl is in lovely EXCELLENT condition with a very few light marks only.
NOT graded "considering it's an old disc" but ACTUAL grade EXCELLENT
A single sleeve cover, with penned name & tel no. at top left corner of the rear.
Flat laminated front is clean and without wrinkles - the rear has a lower seam stain, probably from selotape at one time.
The matt lables are spotless, matt black with silver text, light spindle marks only
Really tough to find a better example, so bid wisely and win a gem
