Description
Jeff Waynes The War of the Worlds LP Audiophile pressing, Half speed Mastered, Extended range recording, vinyl double album gatefold with booklet.
This will of course play on any record deck that can be used at 45rpm, usually albums are played at 33 rpm - this is a high quality half speed recording (giving more info to the hifi).
H2C 45290 CBS 1978. 1981 Release, Stereo, Columbia records
Very good condition. Vinyl is in excellent condition - unable to see any marks, i dont have a deck anymore so i can't play it. Full size 16 page colour booklet in excellent condition - this gives full naration, artwork and bio' on the performers. The sleeve is in good contion - still in its original plastic sleeve - only marks on gatefold sleeve are 3 corners where it hase been standing/used - see pic. Been kept for many years out of any light kept upright tightly alongside other Lp's. No warping. Very little use, used only on good quality hifi. Dare i say generally in excellent condition but this is my view only, this is a used item and condition should be treated as used by the winning bidder.

This disc was issued as part of the CBS Mastersound Series in 1981. The album comprised of the four standard sides of music, but mastered to the highest standard available for that period in time. According to the notes, ‘The War of The Worlds was the industry's first multi-faceted and integrated premium quality product, and entailed state-of-the-art technology at every stage of the manufacturing process. CBS promised the listener new levels of sonic accuracy and realism’.
In addition to the two standard discs, booklet and gatefold sleeve, the package also comprised a sheet of explanatory notes on the half-speed Mastersound series.
* Unlike the original black vinyl double album, the first disc in this package comprises Sides 1 and 4 of the standard album, and the second disc comprises Sides 2 and 3 yet the additional liner notes contain no explanation for this.
This album was only issued in the United States, Canada and Australia, and featured the standard booklet - albeit in superior form.
