Description

The Weirdos 'Destroy All Music' 1977 Bomp 7"

Rare opportunity to acquire this second edition of the Weirdos' Craig Leon/Greg Shaw-produced debut single from 1977. This is a different copy from the one listed on this site about 3 weeks ago, this one being the version with a black label and white lettering, the A-side run-out groove being inscribed with the apposite wording 'THE KING IS DEAD'. Indeed. Given to Julian Cope by his mate and Virgin Records manager Steve Lovell in an attempt to rid the shop of old stock, the disc was never played until this auction. The cover remains crisp and clean, without marks of age save for minor ringwear (see photo) and one tiny (tiny) rip at the top centre rear of the glossy cover. Both sides of the disc having now been played, yes, it is mint except for a couple of pops between the two b-side tracks 'A Life of Crime' and 'Why Do You Exist?' Many thanks for looking.
