Description

  • Hard to find 1960s collectible from The Who. This is a 1968 vinyl 12 inch LP “The Stars Make It Happen” with public service radio spot ads from "new hit recording personalities" for the United States Air Force. The back cover states “suggested for airing Oct-Nov 1968".
  • Included are two public service spots from The Who. On one side of the LP, with "Happy Jack" in the background, Pete Townsend introduces himself as being "from The Who" and makes a pitch for the United States Air Force. The track then continues with more of "Happy Jack" and then fades out. The other side of the LP has a more abbreviated version of the same spot.
  • Also appearing with similar pitches (and snippets of their hit records) are Glen Campbell, Vanilla Fudge, Gene Pitney, Bobby Rydell, Dionne Warwick, The Buckinghams and The Vandellas.
  • The LP retains most of the original gloss with just a few sleeve scuffs and some light occasional surface noise. The cover is near mint. There is a name written in one front corner.
  • NO reserve. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage (check out my other items!).
  • In the US, the winning bidder pays choice of media mail shipping and handling ($4.61) or priority shipping (based on ZIP code). Airmail shipping and handling to Canada is $15.00. All others outside the US are $20.00. Good luck!
