Description
The Who 2x Vinyl LP Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy 1971 & Odds and Sods 1974, both 1st UK Press in VG+/EX conditions. Conditions are "Used". Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class, FREE postage for UK buyers (not including Channel Islands).
These albums have been part of my father's private record collection since were first released in 1971 and 1974.
Meaty Beaty Big and Bouncy (1st UK Press 1971): Sleeve shows very mild shelf wear and rubbed corners, spine is very strong and fully legible and overall it is in VG+ bordering EX conditions.
Vinyl has a very nice sheen to it and presents only few small and hardly visible hairlines on both sides (some shown in pictures) but these do not affect the playback. Even under artificial light not many marks can be seen. I have recently listened to the album and playback was excellent, with very low background noise and in some parts noise is absent. All in all, this is in VG+ but not too far from EX standards.
This version is considered by record collectors to be slightly rarer than most first pressing, as some tracks are mixed in mono whereas others in stereo. I have done some research and this is was something that The Who themselves wanted, as according to them the original tapes in mono retained the real essence of the early tunes.

Odds and Sods (1st UK Press 1974): Sleeve shows some shelf and storage wear, and spine is nearly all legible. Sleeve has some cuts which are a unique feature of this album, as well as a second inner front cover. At the back, text is fully legible and sleeve also features an embossed Braille text too. This is not present in all the pressings and it is a really beautiful example of old school sleeves, overall in VG+ conditions.
Vinyl is spotless, with no marks visible under natural light and only a few tiny ones are barely visible when held against strong artificial light. I have recently played it and playback was amazing with most of the record having no background noise at all, and when there is, it is so low that is virtually inaudible. All in all in EX if not NM conditions.
This pressing also come with its original lyric insert which is in very good condition.
