Description

A genuine and very 1st MONO press of DIRECT HITS. As you will note from this collection of hits - the songs are pre-68 and recorded in the Mono era. Many copies were pumped out in re-channelled stereo...yuck! BUT the 1st copies were in pure mono - and guess what the best sounding copies are? Heavy-set vinyl with matt labels. Matrix A1/B1. The vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day cover with pinched spine. Note that the earliest copies mention 'patent pending'.
Vinyl (Ex) In super condition and has only seen lightest use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of lightest marks per side. A through testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. If you're looking for a stellar copy that will beat everything else on the market - take a clos look at this example. Just quality clean audio delivered throughout. A couple of crackles in a couple of isolated spots. A couple of isolated clicks in 'BUCKET'. Super copy...all in '68 Mono..<<<<
Cover (Ex) In far better condition than typically surfaces. Lovely clean shiny front without creasing or wear. The rear usually ages and exhibits wear. hardly any of it here - clean as they come. Flat and very rigid - likin it! Hardly any edge wear and sharp firm openings. Four pointy corners. The spine is spine is 100% intat. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
