Description
The Who "Happy Jack" Decca Mono DL-4892, 1967. White label promotional copy. Visually grades as VG-, with light scuffing, hairlines, a pair of air bubbles, one on each side. Tracking at 1.5 grams with a shure cart. on a dual tt, the play grade is actually closer to VG+. There is no skipping, some general light surface noise, and a brief but audible low frequency 'thump' coincident with the small air bubbles on each side. The fact is, the beautiful, booming mono mix cuts through EVERYTHING. And PT's occasionally alternate guitar work is cool to say the least. The cover is VG/VG+ with a bb-hole, upper left, and corner wear lower left. There is a name in marker on the back cover, upper left. That said, despite all the flaws - this baby is still RARE!
