Description
Vinyl records pressed in Lebanon are extremely rare and very hard to find items in any condition, produced for a few years in the late 1960's until forced to stop by the onset of civil war in 1975. All the international artists and bands were popular in Lebanon, and only a few copies survived the last thirty years in very good condition, including limited editions of multi-colored 7" singles and unique white label samples for radio and club DJs.
Artist/Band : The Who
Titles : Happy Jack - I've Been Away.
Format : 45 rpm vinyl single record
Country of Manufacture : Lebanon
Label : ...
Year : 1966
Condition, Vinyl : Near Mint, Labels : NM, Sleeve : NM.
Here's your chance to win this impossible to find Lebanese test pressing especially in this stunning Near Mint condition !!!
This record was part of a collection i purchased many years ago from an ex employee at Philips Liban s.a. To my knowledge this single hasn't been released in Lebanon, the only Lebanese pressed 'Who' singles i have ever seen are the 2 multi-colored ones and a regular black vinyl pressing of The seeker/Here for more, known to serious collectors.
It was released in the UK on 'Reaction' the label that released records by the Who, Cream and a few other artists. The tracks were included in the album 'A quick one'.
The vinyl looks as new with its beautiful lustre, there are no signs of age and playing such as groovear or scuffs. A few barely visible light sleeve marks from 44 years of storage. I played it once for accurate grading and it sounded GREAT throughout, It is in NM condition if not better !!!
The matrix numbers in run-off areas are :
Side 1 : *P* 591010 A //8 1
Side 2 : 591010 B 1
The white label has the title written with a blue felt pen, the scans show that there was a mistake made by the employee : The elimination of 'Otis Redding Try a little...', which came out around the same time of this 'Who' record !!!
The disk will be packed seperately from its original company sleeve in a high quality plain white sleeve and a polythene cover.
Due to this record's extreme rarity i have put a reasonable reserve price.
