Up for sale here is a first pressing of The Who's Live At Leeds album. Released in 1970, the album has 6 tracks: Young Man; Substitute; Summertime Blues; Shakin' All Over; My Generation; and Magic Bus. This album sold in the millions and has never been out of print in more than 40 years, but the version for sale here is very special: it is the one that would have been available in the shops the very first week it was released back in 1970. This version comes with A1/B1 matrixes, a black stamp on the front and all 12 original inserts; it was only available like this for a very short period after release before things started to change and be reprinted differently - grab this original while you can!

I've tried to be as honest as possible with the condition descriptions above; all 12 really are in superb condition, and many less scrupulous sellers would carelessly throw around terms like 'Mint' for these items, whereas I want you to be absolutely certain about what you're getting. All 12 items are first printings with all the different paper types that involves (later printings used much more generic paper stock). All printing is beautifully clear, unlike the faded later printings.

VINYL:

A1, B1 matrixes, visually I'd rate it as EX-, sonically as VG+ (there's a little crackling between tracks, but then I suppose that's to be expected!), the surface has a few hairline marks here and there, both labels have a few spindle marks. This copy has obviously been played and enjoyed, but definitely not wrecked, it will still play back extremely well. Comes with its original die-cut poly-lined white paper inner sleeve, with blue print at the bottom, and a little bit of staining top and bottom.

SLEEVE:

First press sleeve with a black stamp on the front and black text on the inside gatefold. In generally EX condition - there are no rips, no writing, both staples are intact, very little discolouration that often occured with the cardboard used; has a couple of creases, mostly to the edge, and a slightly crumpled bottom-left corner (see pic). All in all, an extremely decent first sleeve.
