Edizione UK, stampa originale. Etichetta nera/argento con data in basso (variazione meno comune della label) La copertina non è male considerando lo stato medio in cui si trova questo disco di solito. Davanti e' molto bella con la laminazione ancora intatta e bella lucida. Dietro, la copertina e' un po' macchiata e piu' sporca e con un po di ringwear. C'e' un piccolo strappo in basso (vedi foto). La costa e' messa bena ma "the Who" non si legge. Data una certa usura generale, ma la mancanza di grandi difetti la valuterei VG.
Il disco visivamente non è male. Guardando bene sotto una luce intensa si vedono pochi segni molto leggeri. Ci sono pero' molti "spindle marks" sulla label: questo disco e' stato suonato parecchio, ma fortunatamente ai tempi sapevano anche farli i dischi e suona molto bene quasi senza rumore di fondo. Pero' ci sono due graffi sulla facciata 1: il primo sulla traccia 5 non ha alcun effetto (un paio di clic quasi indistinguibili). Il secondo sulla traccia 2 che produce una serie (8) di click chiaramente ascoltabili. Per il resto il disco suona molto bene con background minimo sempre sovrastato dalla musica. Globalmente valutato VG+. (Molti venditori non esiterebbero a valutarlo EX). Una copia non male, ascoltabile (a parte i due difetti di cui sopra) ad una frazione del prezzo ormai raggiunto da copie Mint.
Early pressing on black/silver Brunswick label. Rarer label variation with release date on bottom of label. Cover is not bad considering the ordinary state of this record. There are no rips or tears and the lamination is still in place with only limited ceasing near the spine. The backcover is lightly stained and has ringwear and a small tear on the bottom part (see photo). The spine is square and maintain the lamination, but "The Who" is only partially readable. Considering the general use and wear I would o give an overall grade of VG.
The record is visually better on side 2 than on side 1 and globally is not bad at all. Closer inspection under a right light reveals only very few light signs. There are plenty of spindle marks, but fortunately the record plays only with the lightest amount of static in between the tracks and in the run-ins. They knew how to make records back then and the music sound loud and beautiful for almost all the record. Globally the record is VG+. The grade is due tothe fact that on side 1 there are two feelable scratches: the first runs through track 5 and produces only a couple of faint, barely audible clicks. The second one is deeper on track 2 (the sign is barely visible because it is not radial) and produces a sequence (8) of clearly audible clicks. Overall a very decent and certainly playable original copy for a fraction of the price that Mint ones command these days.
