Following the success of the1967 hit "Tommy" the Who thought they might give it a second go with 1973 "Quadrophenia". This time the central characters are the four way split personality of Jimmy, based on the four personalities of the members of the Who. The production is powerful with what maybe the best use of synthesizers and effects in rock history. Michael Fremer says this is the best Quadrophenia ever, better than the UK, Japanese, or American original. This release gives you a beautifully produced gatefold jacket and booklet that has never been taken out of the sleeve, the vinyl is absolutely pristine. As always, this copy has been opened, cleaned on my VPI record cleaner, played once, then placed on a shelf in a glass case in my listening room.
