Description
The Who 'Sell out' mono 1st press vinyl record + near mint original psychadelic poster.
Below is as accurate and honest a description as I can give using the Record Collector’s guide:
Poster
Even though this had never been opened before, I will grade it as ‘Excellent’ as there is some light creasing in a few places (other than where it was folded)and very feint ‘yellowing’ around the edges, but otherwise in beautiful condition.
Vinyl
Condition VG to be on the safe side. The record still looks good with signs of spindle wear. The Matt black track labels are in excellent condition with only 2 minor scuffs on the side 1 label.
There are some visible scuffs on the side 1 vinyl when held against the light, with several light scratches. When played, 1 light ‘pop’ can be heard in track two and the same again in track 3 but this does not affect the overall sound quality. Side 2 has several light scuffs, but also has 1 longer scratch in track 1(about 4cm) that produces 2 consecutive ‘pops’. Fortunately the scratch follows a groove rather than goes across it, so these pops are brief. Apart from this, there is no other diminishing of sound quality.
Record cover
I would give this a VG (+) grading. The artwork is in excellent condition with no splits or tears in the cover. There are some light creases round the edges as well as some very minor ‘burring’ along the opening edge. There is also a small amount of ‘delamination’ along the left edge of the cover. The ‘Free Psychedelic Poster Inside’ sticker is present and in excellent condition.
Record Sleeve
Condition Very good. Completely intact including the plastic ‘see-through’ label covers. Some creasing round the edges where the record has sat in the cover. Some noticeable yellowing along the opening edge where it has been exposed to the air and some small ‘scuffing’ along the left hand edge.
Overall grading
Between Excellent (-) and Very good (+). I am amazed at its condition given that it is 45 years old.
Please see the photos for more proof of authenticity. Please don’t hesitate to ask any questions.
Packaging info & returns: The record will be posted with a hard board 'stiffener', wrapped in cardboard and inside a 'Jiffy' padded bag.
