Description
Rare 1967 single from The Who with a fascinating story attached. When Mick Jagger and Keith Richard were jailed on drugs charges, according to Bill Wyman's account “spontaneous demonstrations broke out all over London. The Who’s Keith Moon, his girlfriend Kim and the band’s road manager John Wolfe drove in Keith’s Bentley to the West End and join the protesters.” (see photo - not included in the listing, mind).
And the Who swiftly recorded two Stones songs, released two days later, to keep their mates' recorded work in front of the listening public, planning to record more of their songs, only for the pair to be released soon after.
This rare single is in excellent condition, vinyl and labels and plays superbly. Quality versions with Townshend's powerful guitar and different harmonies to the fore. He also recorded the bass part as John Entwistle was on his honeymoon.
Hard to find, very collectable, and even harder to locate in such good shape. Don't miss it!
