Description

A 1st pressing of Who's Next on the UK Track label from 1971. Matrix A1/B1. Etching 'MG12888'. Please note the labels are flat [not ridged] and are matt black [not shiny] - all of which is indicative of 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill Press printed cover with pinched spine. Also included is an original inner sleeve date coded to summer 1971 - just a few months prior to first release. So, 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex) In superb shape and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Interference is only light and sporadic. All we detected was a touch of light static in a couple of places [e.g. a couple of crackles in IN Tune]. Other than that this really is a very fine playing 1st edition.
Cover (Vg+) Has been looked after down the years. A couple of light creases front and back and some ringwear. There is edge wear, but nothing has worn through. The text on the spine is mostly intact. Overall the cover retains great rigidity and remains a very nice example of the 1st issue.
Inner (Vg) One two inch side split and a bit of ageing.
