Description

A rare chance to purchase a 1st issue of this iconic live album .Pete Townsend was apparently unhappy with the sound quality,as it has some minor clicking noise and background crackle.(Hence the note on both sides of the record label). However, leaving this aside,to most rock fans this record is one of the best live albums of all time and despite Pete's misgivings, the sound quality is fantastic.

THE RECORD.

Catalogue No: Track 2406 001. Matrix:A/1.1. B/1.1

The record has retained its original lustre and looks very clean under normal light. When placed under sunlight there are one or two very light handling lines and some wispy lines that are there due to the inbuilt noises from the recording session. Please be assured, the sound quality is superb and i would hazard a guess that it would be diificult to find a better copy. I never describe any record of this age as "Mint". I would therefore desribe it as "Excellent".

The labels still retain their whiteness and there is very little spindle wear. The record still fits very snuggly on the deck. The only minor blemish is on the "b" side, where the owner has placed a name label.

THE SLEEVE.

The sleeve, I would describe as "Excellent" and is the very first issue with the rare black stamp on the front cover. As can be seen from the photo, the stamp has some colour fading, which unfortunately is very common because of the intentionally poor quality materials used in production. The sleeve has no tears or nasty creases and the staples are still in tact. There is one, very small light stain towards the bottom right front of the sleeve, but hopefully as can be seen from the photos, the sleeve has been very carefully handled and looked after.

THE INSERTS.

The 12 original inserts are all present and in almost pristine condtion.Included is the first issue poster with "Tuesdays At The Marquee".All later pressings have "Live At Leeds" in this space. Many of these posters are found to be missing from the inserts as they were often pinned to the original owner's 'wall. Thankfully this is not the case in this instance and as a bonus, this poster never found its way onto a wall and is therefore still in its perfectly folded, original condition. The "Premier Talent Associates" paper is yellow, as in this case on 1st issues;later releases were brown or white.

Please note I will post to Japan,Australia,New Zealand,United States and Canada at acost of £12.
