Description
This is an original copy of The Zoo's LP titled "Presents Chocolate Moose" released on Sunburst Records # 7500 Stereo.
Distributed by Bell Records, Released in 1968, this LP is difficult to find in any condition, let alone STILL SEALED!
The only flaw is a tiny BB hole near the moose's left eye. Otherwise PERFECT!
Although the California-based Zoo managed to produce only a single album during their short career, it is surprising how fresh and relevant this record still is, some 38 years later.
Formed in 1968 by Murphy ‘Chocolate Moose’ Carfagna, the band also featured Mike Flicker on drums and Howard Leese on lead guitar, both of whom went on to join Heart - Leese as guitarist and Flicker as the band’s producer.
Chocolate Moose was released in 1968 on Ed Cobb’s Sunburst label (Sunburst 7500) and is far more than just a rock album. Its strong punk and psychedelic tendencies, coupled with a smattering of R’n’B, propel the album with an energetic vitality that is underpinned by Leese’s searing guitar.
The album, rare at the time, has now become a major collector's item. Give it a listen and it’s easy to understand why.
