Description

Thank you for your interest!

Today I have for sale:

The dB’s- Stands For Decibels - Japanese original pressing from Victor VIP-6775 with promo white label.

If you’re interested in owning a fantastic sounding pressing of this album without breaking the bank, this could be the auction for you. This pressing sounds amazing! A few lite scratches that didn’t affect play when I listened to the record. There are also are discolorations on the record. My best guess is it was caused by the Japanese style inner sleeve. I’ve had a few old records that have been discolored this way. Despite this, I’ve found that this sounds a very strong VG+. It’s quiet vinyl and none of the visual defects have any impact on the sound at all. I’ve put this through my vacuum record cleaning machine before playing a handful of times to enjoy.

The bad news is, this has had water damage. Even though the record sounds great, the sleeve has some major issues. There is discoloration in the upper right corner as someone in the past has removed the “sample” sticker that is common on Japanese promo pressings. There are numerous spots of discoloration from the water damage. It might be hard to see in the pictures, as this album art’s watercolor motif actually hides them pretty well. From the side, you can see the warping of the cardboard. On the plus side, there are no rips or tears in the art, except a small patch at the bottom left edge in the front. In a tighter protective sleeve, it actually looks decent and flat.

If you’re looking for a nice copy to play, I know you’ll be nicely surprised by this. If you’re a meticulous collector, the sleeve will probably be a dealbreaker. (I’m a bit on that side myself, as I’m letting this one go because I have another Japanese pressing without sleeve damage.)

All records are from my personal collection or duplicates I have acquired. I am not a professional grader or seller, but I have tried to grade these items conservatively and provide pictures so that you know exactly what you are getting and are satisfied by your purchase rather than disappointed. All records are visually graded unless otherwise noted above.

All records will be mailed in appropriate mailers and records in sleeves outside jackets to help prevent seam splits in transport. If you would like me to open a sealed record before mailing, please let me know and I will be happy to oblige.

Payment is due within three days of auction close. I will combine shipping at a rate of $1.50 per lp ($3 for 2 lp album, etc.). I will ship packages within two business days of received payment.
