I've Got The Music In Me
Sheffield Lab Direct Disc Recording
Limited Edition LP
Gatefold
Item Details
Recorded: February 1975
Issued: 1975
Label: Sheffield Lab
Mastering at: The Mastering Lab by Mike Reese
Runout Deadwax Matrix Numbers:
Side 1: (all stamped:) SL7-4-S ? 19811-(1)
Side 2: (all stamped:) SL8-3-M ? 19811-X(5)
NOTE: The purple jacket "Treasury" copies of the album you might see for sale are NOT direct
to disc but were mastered from the original session analog backup tape.
Was bought new by this seller many years ago and now offered from his private collection (you
have absolutely known provenance). Has very few plays only on an expertly setup high-end
audiophile turntable, arm, and cartridge. Has never been exposed to heat or tobacco smoke
and always stored vertically in a specially designed record cabinet (Rackit) to prevent warpage.
Was cleaned on a VPI HW 16 with Audio Intelligent solutions and ultra-pure water rinse
(50X purer than distilled water) before my pre-sale sound check.
Play testing was performed straight off my Ayre P-5xe fully balanced phono preamp
over Sennheiser HD 600 headphones thru a Schiit Audio Valhalla 2 tube headphone amp fitted with
Voskhod Soviet matched tubes. Sensitivity was high enough that I could actually hear the background
hiss in between tracks from the combination of microphone preamps and tube cutting amplifiers.
(see last photo).
Track list
1: I've Got The Music In Me, Reggae Tune, To Know You Is To Love You, Pressure Cooker.
2: Don't Misunderstand, Step In Time, Dish Rag, Got To Get You In To My Life, I've Got The Music
In Me (Reprise).
I never take "distant" photos nor the so-prevalent type with the LP sticking halfway out of the jacket.
I take close-ups under photo lamps so you can see nearly everything I describe in the jacket grading.
Grading
Note: record grading by text characters is subjective and does not fully describe quality
levels. Please see photos and my detailed descriptions below.
Outer Jacket: VG+ (Very Good Plus) Jacket has some handling wear on the front and back cover surfaces
in the form of rubbing marks, light scratches, and partial ring wear. All edges and corners have light
rubbing wear. The only crease is a very small one on the upper left corner as seen in the photo.
Vinyl: NM (Near Mint) Surface visuals were first inspected under high intensity halogen light.
Some very fine wear marks were were found on both sides. They were hard to see unless I tilted the
record at a particular angle with my eyes only few inches away from the grooves. I listened to the
beginning and end of each track and all the silent grooves in between. I could find no noise
contribution from the wear marks. In general, the pressing is comparably quiet against other NM Sheffield
D2D LPs I own. The musical content was explosively dynamic, especially on the instrumental tracks
with a characteristic of great clarity as expected on a direct to disc mastering.
Packaging
Record will be placed outside the jacket and printed inner sleeve to protect against seam splitting.
Record has been placed into a new "rice paper" sleeve to keep vinyl surface clean during shipping
and ultimate buyer usage.
Outer jacket is contained in a new clear polyethylene protective sleeve.
Sent in good quality record mailer with cardboard stiffeners.

Shipping will be via USPS Media Mail for a flat charge of $3.98 per single album sale.
A combined shipping discount is available on multiple sales completed within 5 business days

but wait for my all-combined invoice. A discount for the combined items will show on that invoice.
