Description

Up for auction is a Thelma Terry And Her Playboys 78 record from 1928.This is 1 of 2 Thelma Terry 78s I have up at this time.She only made 4 different records with a total of 6 songs on them.Please check my other one if interested.This one is on Columbia D label # 1588-D.Songs titled Dusky Stevedore on one side and has When Sweet Susie Goes Steppin' By on the other side.Thelma's band The Playboys consisted of Gene Krupa on Drums and Bob Zurke on Piano along with others.She played string Bass and was also the leader of the band.The When Sweet Susie Goes Steppin' By side looks stunning with about 7 to 8 extremely light scratches.You really got to look to even see them.The Dusky Stevedore side has about 6 to 7 extremely light to light scratches with 1 scratch I can feel very lightly with fingernail.Both sides also have quite abit of groove wear see picture but record still has some real nice shine.Really is a Beautiful record as you can see.I played the record with the treble adjusted halfway up and both sides play with a medium hiss in the background.When treble is low record plays with a light hiss.I would estimate the songs on both sides have about 12 to 15 light ticks throughout even though both songs play nicely.Both songs also play loudly.Wonderful record.Also comes with an original old Columbia label sleeve.The sleeve has a small side split and a small tear by hole see picture.Very neat as it has the original label with song titles and record # in the lower right corner also see picture.If the buyer is not 100% satiafied I have a return for refund policy on all records I sell.Please check the bottom of the page for shipping prices.E Mail for Foreign shipping prices
