Description
Rare original 1957 mono pressing of Thelonious Monk playing own compositions. Originally recorded by Riverside Records in the US and including John Coltrane on Sax. Title is "Thelonious Himself".
Pressed on Original London American Jazz series label (Red and silver) with catalogue number LTZ-U 15120.
Has front and back laminated flip back sleeve.
Sadly record has not been well cared for. This sleeve is in strong G condition with creasing, edge damage, flipback loss at bottom of sleeve and spine damage. Also a fair bit of laminate loss. Otherwise intact and clean - flimsy old style sleeve showing age.
Record has been scuffed from use and visually looks VG- with a fair few noticeable marks and scratches. Record plays through perfectly (no sticks or jumps) but does suffer from background surface noise and crackle and the odd click. May benefit from a clean, not sure?
Offered for a sensible price given rarity of the record (I have never seen this before), but happy to accept offers, as I really don't know how to value this given condition.
