Description

Thelonious Monk Brilliant Corners 1961 Mono Repress Blue Label VG/VG.


For auction is a very good listeners copy of Brilliant Corners by American jazz pianist and composer, Thelonious Monk. Released on Riverside Records in April, 1957, it was his third record for the label but the first to consist of all original compositions. Upon its release it was a critical success and now considered an essential and classic album. In 1999, Brilliant Corners, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for its historical significance, and in 2003, the record, was one of fifty albums chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry for preservation. This copy is a 1961 mono repress with Riverside blue labels.


Vinyl is play graded VG. Some light visible surface marks but nothing deep that can be felt. Plays with mild background noise at times that is never overwhelming. Super clean copy!! No skips or jumps. Please see pics.


Cover is also in VG condition. Shelf wear on corners and seams but no splits. Title is fully legible. Ring wear, light scuffing and stains on both sides. A name is stamped on back. Super solid! Please see pics.
