Description
Riverside RLP 12-235 Original white label with blue Riverside banner, deep groove; Bill Grauer Productions. 8 tracks with Monk solo on all tracks except 1 which features John Coltrane, tenor sax; Wilbur Ware, bass. Recorded April 12 and 16, 1957 in NYC. Very Rare Issue.
Cover: Mint(-) Intact and clean iwth light aging. Minor corner wear and light soil on the back cover from ordinary handling. Heavy cardboard jacket.
Record: VG+ Visually shows no wear. There is 1 small rub mark which has no effect on the sound. In spite of the fine, clean appearance, there are some intervals of light groove noise on most tracks. These are audible as light crackles. The VG+ rating is an average as some parts have less and some parts have more audible noise. Those interested should be prepared for this uneven quality. Side 2 appears to have less noise. The music is clearly audible throughout. Audibly checked.
