Description
Both labels have the address 203 South Washington Ave., Bergenfield, N.J with the same address at the bottom of the back cover. Deep groove, mono. Monk, piano on all 10 tracks. 8 tracks recorded in 1952 also includes Gary Mapp, bass; Art Blakey, drums. 2 tracks recorded in 1954 with Percy Heath, bass; Blakey, drums.
Cover: VG+ Intact and clean. Slight corner wear. Some uneven aging on the back c over and slight soil on the back cover from ordinary handling. Gloss finished front cover. The are 2 small pieces of scotch tape on the cover. These are barely visible.
Record: VG+ or Better Side A has a slight uneven "haze" on most of the Side with a few very light surface rub marks. Side B has no "haze" but with similar very light surface rub marks. The "haze" does not affect the sound and appears to be in the vinyl pressing. On Side A, Tracks 1 and 2 have slight groove noise, barely audible, on a few revolutions. Track 3 has a slight crackle on the 1st revolution, no other noise. On Side B, Track 2 has several clicks at the end of the track and a small "skip". No other surface noise. I have adjusted the overall rating to reflect the "skip". Except for this Track, the balance of the record plays close to Mint(-). Audibly checked.
