Description

Riverside RLP 12-242, “Monk’s Music” with Thelonious Monk, Coleman Hawkins, Art Blakey, and Gigi Gryce; from 1957.  This is the medium-weight blue-label DG pressing.  The vinyl shows no marks and plays at NM with virtually no background sound.  The jacket is in excellent shape with just a tiny amount of wear on the bottom seam.  Corners are square, there are no bends and almost no ringwear, the jacket back is very clean, and there are the remains of a store label at lower right on the back. The numbers are “Abide with Me”, “Well You Needn’t”, “Ruby My Dear”, “Off Minor”, “Epistrophy”, and “Crepuscule with Nellie”.  Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $8.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $20.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, and Australia; elsewhere inquire.  Additional LPs in a single package are $1.00 per LP domestic, $2.00 elsewhere. For overseas shipments, I strongly recommend registered mail for $12.00 extra.  Many old records are now practically antiques and should be treated that way.  This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides.  It is designed thick enough not to be caught in a postal conveyor belt and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window with no damage to LP or jacket.  More than two LPs may be mailed together in a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped.  All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
